Dr. Rabiu K. B.鈥堿sante is a鈥塮orward-thinking scholar whose鈥墂ork sits at the intersection of sociology,鈥塼echnology, and public鈥塰ealth. Dr. Asante鈥塱s currently a Senior鈥塋ecturer in the Department鈥塷f Sociology at鈥塼he University of鈥塆hana, and has held鈥塩ourtesy appointments at鈥塼he University of 91视频鈥檚 Department鈥塷f Anthropology and鈥塖chool of Social鈥塛ork and is a鈥塕esearch Fellow at鈥塼he MH-RITES Research Centre, University鈥塷f Houston. His鈥塧cademic journey includes鈥塧 Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Sociology from鈥塼he University of鈥塆hana and a鈥塸ostdoctoral fellowship at the鈥塙niversity of 91视频. Dr. Asante鈥檚鈥塺esearch explores a鈥墂ide range of鈥塩ontemporary issues, including digital鈥塯aming, mHealth, gambling, mental鈥塰ealth, and the鈥塻ocial implications of鈥塈CT in African contexts.鈥塇e is particularly interested in鈥塰ow digital technologies鈥塻hape informal markets,鈥塻ocial networks, and youth鈥塩ulture. With extensive鈥塭xperience in both qualitative鈥塧nd quantitative methodologies,鈥塂r. Asante integrates鈥塪ata science tools into鈥塰is teaching and鈥塺esearch, equipping students with鈥塩ritical skills for鈥塼he digital age.鈥塇is work has been鈥塻upported by numerous鈥塸restigious grants and fellowships,鈥塧nd he is鈥墂idely published in鈥塧reas that reflect his鈥塩ommitment to social鈥塱nnovation and interdisciplinary inquiry.
