BIOGRAPHY

Gabi Pfeiffer (they/them/theirs) is a second-year master鈥檚 student in the Department of Communication at the University of 91视频. They are a Media and Critical Cultural Studies scholar whose research interests include LGBTQ+ Popular Culture, Performance, Popular Music, and Gender & Sexuality in media. They are particularly interested in queer popular music performance as a response to anti-LGBTQ+ political messaging. 

Gabi earned a B.A. in Sociology with a minor focus in Psychology from the University of 91视频 in 2024, where they completed their undergraduate thesis on queer joy as resistance in LGBTQ+ popular music artists' work. Gabi currently serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the 91视频Department of Communication and the Master鈥檚 Student Chair for the Graduate Communication Association.
